Goal: The goal of my action research plan is to determine if the integration of technology into lessons will improve literacy levels of fifth grade students in my classroom.

Formally assess students’ literacy levels at the initial start date of the action research activity.	Classroom teacher	August 2012-September 2012	-Assessment Kits	Documentation of reading level using the text level assessment will be listed in data notebook.
Develop and implement lesson plans that include technology.	Classroom teacher	August 2012-April 2012	-Smartboard    -desktop computers -mobile laptop carts	After selected lessons, informal and formal assessments will be conducted. Results will be documented in the data notebook.
Allow students to use technology related literacy activities individually.	Classroom teacher	August 2012-April 2012	-Mobile laptop carts -desktop computers -interactive computer activities	Quizzes and conferences to review skills will be noted.
Monitor and assess student progress by continuing to assess literacy levels, and track test scores throughout the year.	Classroom teacher	September 2012-April 2012	-Assessment Kits -MAPS test scores -PASS test scores	Literacy levels using assessment kits, conferences, scores from begging, middle, and end of the year MAPS testing and PASS testing, and notes will be recorded in data notebook.
